So yesterday afternoon, my parents brought the cutest little kitten home for us to keep. ;u;

It was completely unexpected, but my brother and I were really happy!!! This is a really special time for my family - We've all never owned a cat before, and she's a new addition to the family... not to mention we've been 'dog people' for the longest time, lol.

I really love my new kitty! She's a tortoise shell cat, which is some breed of calico, I believe. She's the sweetest kitty I've ever seen! Unlike a lot of cats I've met, she'll walk right up to greet you, and she's not afraid to crawl and rub her face all over you. XDDD She's already made herself quite at home! She seems to feel really comfortable here, already. She's eating well, she's figured out how the litter box works, and she's kneading her paws all over the place! My aunt, who's a cat freak, says she's working her paws because she's happy. Aww.

The only issue she seems to be having is with our dog. Every time the kitten is in the same room as my lab, she raises her back and starts to hiss. My dog really doesn't mind her, though, and actually seems to respect the cat's space. I've been told that they'll be best friends in a matter of days, but then again, ~Voodoorabbit's cats still haven't gotten used to her dog. :/ I really hope that my pets can get along, though. I think it'd be so cute to see them snuggle up together~! :' D

Isn't she precious??? She's a really scruffy kitten right now, but I think she's going to get even prettier when she gets bigger. ;u; She's almost 3 months old right now, but later on she should have a fuller coat, and her brown/black/white markings should be even more distinct.

Oh! And I've been thinking about naming her Sundae. Back in the first grade I decided that if I ever got a calico cat, I'd name it Sundae. XDDD; It's also sort of a play on words, since we got her on a Sunday. My mom also brought it to my attention that the name is almost an eerie crossover between the names of my old retriever, Sunny, and my labrador, Sandy. Not only that, but it sort of keeps the tradition of my parents naming everything they own an 'S' name, hahaha.

I probably sound like a crazy cat lady right about now, but I'm just too happy! School's ending this week, too, and I promised myself that I'm going to be on an artistic spree this summer! I can't wait!! d( > u < )b

But anyway, that's about it for now. I just wanted to update before I got my finals over with, haha. Next week, I'll keep you guys posted with a lot of new updates, including a tag from ~CaroRuLushe, heheh.
